Owls steal win in Magpies nest

Marcus Tudgay's second league goal of the season set Sheffield Wednesday on their way to ending a five-game winless run with a 2-0 victory at 10-man Notts County. The Owls had not won since they beat County a month ago in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, but took the lead after 52 minutes when Tudgay picked up on a poorly-cleared ball 25 yards out and swung his foot through a shot that nestled into the top corner. Before the goal the Magpies had dominated and thought they had equalised a minute after going behind, as Ben Davies headed back across the area and Lee Hughes nodded in, only to be denied by an offside flag. County's hopes were quashed when they were reduced to 10 men with three minutes left, Alan Judge shown a straight red card for kicking out in petulance at Darren Potter. And it was the former Liverpool midfielder who sealed the match with the last kick, putting the finishing touch to a move that had ripped County open.
