Sheffield Wednesday will warm up for the forthcoming Championship season with a summer camp in Portugal. Dave Jones’ squad fly out for a week in the sun in the middle of July, during which they will play two games against as yet unconfirmed opposition.
Prior to the Portugal trip Wednesday will play their traditional pre-season matches against local sides Stocksbridge Park Steels and Sheffield FC and when they return following the week away their preparations for the new season will conclude with a trip to Doncaster Rovers on Saturday July 28th before facing Premier League side West Bromwich Albion at Hillsborough on Saturday August 4th.
The new season kick-off in earnest with a Carling Cup 1st round tie on Wednesday 15th August with the league season commencing on the weekend of the 18th August.
