Owls puts contract talks on hold

Both Owls defenders have yet to sign their latest contract offers and talks have been on-going throughout the summer. Wednesday manager Brian Laws said: "Tommy and Richard are core to my plans for developing this team and everyone is happy to leave this until later this year, at which point we hope to have seen a conclusion regarding the club's investment process." The Owls are currently in talks with potential American investors, who recently confirmed their interest in plans to buy a £20million controlling stake in the club. Meanwhile, Ryan France has decided not to accept the Owls' contract offer following his successful trial with the club after a medical confirmed a knee injury. Laws added: "Our offer to Ryan reflected this risk because the club has a policy to protect themselves from any financial risks now and in the future. I wish Ryan all the best wherever he goes."
