Owls pair give Megson lift

Gary Madine and Rob Jones could return for Sheffield Wednesday in their home game with Hartlepool. Striker Madine started on the substitutes' bench in last week's defeat at Brighton. His 10-year-old brother was involved in a car accident and the 17-goal forward had missed out on training. Central defender Jones, on loan from Scunthorpe, has been sidelined for the last three games due to concussion sustained in the recent home defeat to Brentford, but both players are expected to start. Manager Gary Megson, who has no new injury or suspension worries, could also turn to the likes of winger Gary Teale, along with midfielders Darren Potter and Giles Coke. Meanwhile, defender Daniel Jones and striker Paul Heffernan are pushing for recalls as the Owls bid to secure a third straight home win and extend the seven-point gap between themselves and the relegation zone.
