Owls let striker go as goals continue to flow at Hillsborough

Forward deemed surplus to requirements at S6 SheffieldWednesday have taken the decision to loan striker Clinton Morrison to League One rivals MK Dons. The Owls recruitedNottinghamForeststriker David McGoldrick on a loan deal prior to last weekend’s fixture at Yeovil and he scored on his Wednesday debut. This weekend McGoldrick partnered Gary Madine who enhanced his reputation with a double strike in the 3-0 home win againstExeter, taking the formerCarlislestriker to the top of the scorers’ charts for the division. Wednesday also welcomed back strike duo Chris O’Grady and Ryan Lowe to their match day squad following injury lay offs and their return has meant that Morrison has dropped way down the pecking order at Hillsborough. The formerRepublicofIrelandstriker doesn’t seem to be part of Gary Megson’s plans and the loan move could be a prelude to a permanent departure when the transfer window reopens. Morrison has joined the Dons on an initial one-month deal and he made his debut as a second half substitute in their 0-0 draw at Bury on Saturday. It was the first time that then Dons have failed to score in 13 games this season.
