Owls kit flying off the shelves

The Owls, who donated their shirt sponsorship to the children's hospital during the summer, agreed to hand over £1 to the charity for every one sold and the sale of the first 10,000 has now triggered a doubling of the monies donated. Chairman Lee Strafford said: "We were always confident that this season's replica shirts would prove popular because they combine three very strong brands - Sheffield Wednesday, PUMA, and The Children's Hospital, Sheffield. "But the speed at which the kit has sold has even exceeded our high expectations and I'm very proud that the club has been able to raise £10,000 for The Children's Hospital Charity already through shirt sales alone. "The numbers sold show that giving our sponsorship to The Children's Hospital was a shrewd move financially, helping to increase our merchandise revenues considerably while also illustrating our club's strong community values."
