Jones adds to backroom staff

Dave Jones has made his first major move as manager of Sheffield Wednesday by adding the experience of Terry Burton to his coaching staff.

Burton brings with him a wealth of experience having began his coaching career at Arsenal at the age of just 24.

Since then he has worked at Wimbledon, where he had a couple of stints as manager, Watford and Cardiff City where he spent 6 years working alongside Dave Jones.

Burton has agreed to joins the ranks at Hillsborough, leaving Premier League side West Bromwich Albion in doing so where he had a contract to work under the leadership of manager Roy Hodgson to the end of the season.

Jones has stated that Burton will be addition to the Owls backroom staff at this stage rather than a replacement for anyone. He has expressed a desire to keep some continuity from the previous regime rather than make wholesale changes and so Chris Evans, who moved to Hillsborough as Gary Megson’s number 2 will remain on the coaching staff as things stand.
