Notts County Vs Wednesday: Team news & preview

Sheffield Wednesday face a real test of their promotion credentials on Saturday when they make the short trip to in-form Notts County.

Wednesday will be without winger Jermaine Johnson and full-back Jon Otsemobor but otherwise have a full strength squad to choose from. Left-back Reda Johnson is available again following a hamstring strain but may have to settle for a place on bench.

Notts County could welcome back striker Lee Hughes who has completed a 3-match ban but he may have to start from the bench if County choose to stick with a winning team.  The home side have brought in former Wednesday loanee Lloyd Sam during the week and the winger could make his debut.

Wednesday, who will have the backing of 4,500 away fans at Meadow Lane, are unbeaten in 4 games and have won both games since Dave Jones took over as manager.

Notts County recently appointed former Sheffield United centre-back Keith Curle as their manager and their recent form has been even more impressive. They have 5 wins and a draw from their last 6 games including victories over promotion chasing sides Charlton, Carlisle and Stevenage.

The Owls have won 9 times and lost on 15 occasions in 32 visits to the Magpies. Wednesday ran out 2-1 winners when the 2 sides met at Hillsborough back in August.
