Owls duo set to miss start of the season

Midfield pair virtually ruled out of opening day game Sheffield Wednesday will almost certainly be without two midfielders as they prepare to kick-off their League One campaign with a win against Dagenham & Redbridge at Hillsborough on Saturday. Winger Jermaine Johnson picked up a knock in the friendly at Doncaster last weekend and a knee injury that has prevented him from taking a full part in training this week looks set to see him miss the 2010/11 curtain raiser. Tommy Miller is definitely out of the match against the Daggers with rumours suggesting that he has a hamstring problem. Miller had been tipped to take one of the central midfield spots coming into the new season but has seen his pre-season preparations curtailed by yet more injury problems that have seen him miss many of the recent warm up games. The former Ipswich man joined the Owls last summer but made just 10 league starts last season. More team news will follow on owls-mad on Friday as we preview the first match of the season with Dagenham making their League One debut against the Owls at S6.
