Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed they are still in talks with "serious potential investors". The Owls, given 28 days to settle debts of £550,000 with the taxman after being issued with a winding-up petition by Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) earlier this month, turned down one takeover bid from American investment group Club 9 Sports earlier this summer. A club spokesman said: "We are having on-going talks with serious potential investors and when there is something tangible to report we will do." Former West Ham chairman Eggert Magnusson has been reported to have launched a rescue bid for the club, who have debts of around £26million, but it is understood the club are not in discussion with the Icelandic businessman.
