Owls chief will spend wisely

The Owls have already splashed out an undisclosed sum on Wolves midfielder Darren Potter this summer and although there is more money available, Laws is desperate for the talk of investment in the club to become a reality. "There is a small portion left for an emergency and if it is needed we will need to use it carefully," he told the Star. "My budget has increased from last season but we are still in the bottom half of the wage budget for this division. "There is talk of investment before Christmas. There is a lot of activity and confidence that this will come through. "I have to say I am flabbergasted that there are people out there not taking a gamble on a club like Sheffield Wednesday."
