Owls boss rules out Baptiste swoop

The 23-year-old, who can also play in defence, has impressed during his first season at Championship level following his move from Mansfield. But Hillsborough boss Laws told skysports.com that Baptiste isn't a player who is on his summer shortlist. He said: "Alex is a player I know all about, but I have to say that he is not on our radar. "I think that will be media talk as the player looks to heighten his chances of getting a move to a big club, but we certainly aren't looking at him as a potential target." The Owls have moved quickly to bolster their squad this summer, with the triple swoop for Tommy Miller, Darren Purse and Michael Gray, but Laws insists there is still more to come. He said: "We are hoping to bring in four or five players just to bolster the squad and strengthen it in terms of experience. "We know from last season where we feel we lacked strength in depth and that is where we will strengthen over the summer. "We've done that pretty quickly and brought in the right personnel to improve on what we have already got here." Several players have been linked with a move to Hillsborough this summer and the former Scunthorpe boss revealed that he has a lengthy list of potential targets. He admitted: "We are always looking to improve every area of the team and if there is a player out there which is better than what we have already got here and is in the right price bracket then we will be looking at him. "We aren't just looking at a couple of players, but all of them that are available and would suit this club."
