Youngster joins on loan

Sheffield Wednesday have today confirmed the exciting capture of young Barcelona B forward Rodrigo Rios Lozano.

The 22-year-old, better known as Rodri, moves to Hillsborough on a season long loan deal subject to international clearance.

Rodri has made 35 appearances for Barcelona B, scoring 8 times. Prior to his move to the Catalan capital he scored an impressive 28 goals in 54 appearances for Sevilla’s second string, going onto make 7 appearances for the Primera Liga club’s fist team, mainly as a substitute. His only goal for Sevilla came in the last match of the 2009/10 season when his injury time strike secured a win at Almeria that clinched Champions League qualification.

The striker, who is described on the official Barcelona website as having tireless effort, a goal scoring instinct and a touch of class, made 2 appearances for the highly regarded Spanish under 21 team, scoring 1 goal.
