O'Connor: Homework paying off

Sheffield Wednesday midfielder James O'Connor believes boss Alan Irvine's attention to detail has helped the team improve. The Owls are two points clear of the bottom three after a 2-0 home win over Blackpool on Tuesday night and O'Connor credited his goal at Hillsborough to the management team. "They do a lot or work looking at teams' strengths and weakness and the video work on what we can expect," O'Connor told the Sheffield Star. "It's certainly paid off - that's the third or fourth goal we've scored that's come from information they've given us. They put in a lot of hard work and maybe not a lot of people realise that. "Sometimes it's the little things that win you games - attention to detail is something they're very sharp on." Sheffield Wednesday have a free weekend before facing Doncaster next Tuesday and O'Connor added: "There are a number of games at the weekend and a bit of luck from those would help us. We need to keep winning and get up the table. It's so tight."
