More woe for Wednesday

24 July 2010 17:32
Former Sheffield United striker Jonathan Forte struck a first-half winner to sink Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 in Scunthorpe's friendly at Glanford Park. Forte struck his third goal in two matches when he latched on to a loose ball midway through the first half and raced clear before driving a low shot into the bottom corner. Wednesday went close to an equaliser when striker Marcus Tudgay hit the crossbar with a stinging half-volley in the 24th minute, while the impressive forte forced Richard O'Donnell into a fine save with a shot from the edge of the penalty area.
