Mellor set to boost Owls

Sheffield Wednesday striker Neil Mellor is hoping to return to the squad for the clash at Plymouth following tonsilitis. Mellor, on a season-long loan from Preston, missed last week's home defeat to Carlisle but could be back in the starting line-up. Boss Alan Irvine has plenty of options up front with Marcus Tudgay and summer signings Clinton Morrison and Paul Heffernan all available. Winger Jermaine Johnson remains sidelined with his long-term knee injury but the Owls have no new injury or suspension problems. Despite last week's defeat to Carlisle, which saw Wednesday slip from top to seventh in the table, Irvine is not expected to make too many changes. Midfield pair Tommy Miller and James O'Connor, who both started on the bench last week, are pushing for recalls.
