Sheffield Wednesday striker Neil Mellor has won the Owls fans' Player of the Year award. Mellor has scored 20 goals since joining Wednesday on a season-long loan from Preston last summer, including hat-tricks against Hartlepool and MK Dons. The 28-year-old said: "I'm really honoured to pick up this award. It always means a lot to win awards like these. "But when they've come from the supporters who watch you every week, it means that much more. I'd like to thank everyone who voted for me." Mellor received 31% of the vote, followed by goalkeeper Nicky Weaver (26%) and midfielder Tommy Miller (10%).
