Megson bemoans slow start

Sheffield Wednesday boss Gary Megson bemoaned a slow start from his side as they slipped to a 2-1 defeat at Rochdale. The Owls were behind after 15 minutes. Fine work from Nicky Adams sent Scott Wiseman into the area on the right and his cross created a simple tap-in for Matt Done. Daniel Jones' foul on Done 12 minutes later handed Rochdale a penalty which was duly despatched by skipper Gary Jones. Owain Fon Williams got his fingertips to a fierce drive by Isaiah Osbourne late on but was powerless when Gary Madine headed home Lewis Buxton's cross in the 90th minute.M Megson said: "The first half was totally unacceptable. We spoke before the game about the fact we can`t give teams a two-goal start and put ourselves on the back foot. "Their first goal was a poxy effort to give away. We have to stop abdicating responsibility because I can't keep going in at half-time, getting upset at the players and making changes. In the second half we had eight corners, seven shots and scored, all of which we failed to do in the first 45 minutes. "The players are clearly capable of doing it, but it appears we need to get a little bit upset before we start doing it."
