McAuley: We need your backing

Academy boss McAuley, appointed caretaker-manager following the departure of Brian Laws, believes a previous stint in temporary charge when former boss Paul Sturrock was dismissed in 2006, will serve him well.[LNB]McAuley told the club's official website: "The game has moved forward since then and will continue to move forward and get better. Now we need to get better as a team.[LNB]"The players are not in a good place at this moment in time and I will try to change that around. They need the belief and I will try and instil that into them.[LNB]"They need to rediscover their form and we will help them to do that. But when they cross that white line, it's the support they get from the supporters that will count.[LNB]"That support has been first class so far. I sit and watch our games in the stand every week and continue to be astounded by the support our players get. What we ask of our supporters is they continue that and hopefully we can provide a product on the pitch to send them home happy."[LNB][LNB][LNB]
