McAllister happy with midfield partners

Manager Brian Laws drafted in Potter on loan from Wolves in January and his inclusion has seen O'Connor giving way - for the time being - but McAllister feels he has stepped up his game due to the added competition. McAllister said: "I know the gaffer won't think twice about changing things if you're not performing and rightly so. The competition is great for everyone at the club and certainly keeps you on your toes. "I'm the type of player who gives 100% regardless, but deep down it's healthy when you know there is someone breathing down your neck ready to take the shirt. "We've shown enough times that (me and James) can play in the same team, we were the two main central midfielders for most of the games early on this season when we were up near the play-offs. Yes, we are similar players, but not the same. "And I can play with Potts and so can James. Potts has a great range of passing, which allows me to get forward more, which is a strong part of my game. All the options are workable. At the end of the day, we're all in this together and we all abide by the decision of the gaffer on the day."
