Mariners sink Owls
Sheffield Wednesday suffered their first defeat of pre-season as Grimsby triumphed 2-1 at Blundell Park.
Mariners new boy Alan Connell opened the scoring after 19 minutes before Luke Boden equalised just before the interval.
Peter Bore settled the game with an impressive finish after 79 minutes.
The Wednesday defence allowed him too much space and he fired home from 25 yards.
