Mandaric looking to next season

Sheffield Wednesday chairman Milan Mandaric is embarrassed by the club's poor showing in League One and has promised "a very aggressive drive" for promotion next season. Mandaric installed Gary Megson as Alan Irvine's replacement in early February, but results have not improved and three defeats in their last four matches have seen the Owls slip to within seven points of the relegation zone. Manadaric, imploring fans to stick with him and renew their season tickets, said: "My desperate and first desire is to get us back into the Championship, so the position we find ourselves in right now is disappointing, embarassing and makes me very frustrated. "But the bright side is the support of Sheffield Wednesday fans and their belief and trust that they know I will make things happen." He added: "This season has been very disappointing because I gave the green light for new signings but it just didn't work out. But I have high expectations and I want us to get as many points as possible from the 11 games we have left. "Then we will make a very aggressive drive to make it happen next season and I will be a lot more educated about what this club is all about on and off the field, which will help me minimise any obstacles. Next season will be massive for this club because I will have a full season to take us forward."
