Mandaric frustrated at Owls progress
Milan Mandaric has conceded his first five months as Sheffield Wednesday chairman have been "the most frustrating time of all my years in football".
Former Portsmouth and Leicester chairman Mandaric, 72, completed his £8million takeover of Wednesday at the end of November, but the stability he has brought the club off the field has not yet been reflected on it and the Owls will spend another season in npower League One.
Mandaric said: "I was parachuted in, if you like, to save us from administration and I was astonished by how little this club had to operate and exist, so to see the level of support we have here is truly amazing and that gives me so much positive energy to help drive Sheffield Wednesday forward.
"We all have the same aims and our ambitions will take time to achieve, it will not happen overnight. This season has been really frustrating for me and if I'm honest I will say it has been the most frustrating time of all my years in football.
"But we will get this right, on and off the pitch. We're making some key changes behind the scenes to give us a very strong infrastructure, with people working with me who understand the football business."
The Serbian-born businessman added: "I've fallen in love with Sheffield Wednesday very quickly and as I said when I took over the club last December, I will do everything in my power to take us back where we belong and that is to the Premier League."
