Laws relishing Tykes clash

The Owls, beaten 1-0 in the corresponding fixture last season, will be looking for revenge on August 8 before Laws' side travel to newly-promoted Peterborough seven days later.

Laws said: "It's a fantastic fixture to start the season and it's important for us to be at home. It will also be important for us to get off to a good start and if we can do that against one of our local rivals then all the better."

Wednesday's third match of the new season is at Newcastle - Laws' hometown team - with the return at Hillsborough on Boxing Day.

Laws added: "We're playing Newcastle early in the season and that is a good thing because the teams coming down from the Premier League are likely to still be adapting to life in the Championship.

"The fact that we're playing Newcastle at home on Boxing Day is also a great fixture to look forward to and almost guarantees a sell-out crowd."
