Laws eyes return of injured trio

The Owls are comfortably lodged in mid-table in the Championship after Saturday's 1-0 win at Norwich, with little prospect of a play-off place or being dragged into a relegation tussle.

And Laws, who will be without the suspended Tommy Spurr for the visit of Derby on Saturday, plans on giving Akpo Sodje, Leon Clarke and Etienne Esajas plenty of game time before the campaign draws to a close.

"Tommy is going to be suspended now and (Luke) Varney is not eligible for the Derby game," Laws told The Star. "But when somebody is out it gives an opportunity to somebody else.

"We have Akpo Sodje back, and Leon Clarke will definitely be back in the squad for Saturday. We also have Etienne Esajas back.

"We want to try and give them some games before the season is out."
