Jeffers shines for second string
Jeffers was on target twice, with fellow first-team players Richard Hinds and Tommy Miller also staking their claims for first-team recalls with a goal apiece as the second string beat Walsall.
Jeffers was sent off for head-butting Tommy Fraser in the 2-0 Carling Cup defeat at Port Vale in August and has made just one brief substitutes' appearance since.
Winger Etienne Esajas and midfielder Sean McAllister, both in manager Brian Laws' first-team plans in recent weeks, were prominent for the Owls, while defender Frank Simek, yet to appear in the Championship this season after recovering from long-term injury, played the full 90 minutes.
