Irvine: We must bounce back

Sheffield Wednesday boss Alan Irvine has urged his side to bounce back from their 2-0 defeat by Doncaster when they host Ipswich on Saturday. The result ended the Owls` run of four league games without defeat at Hillsborough and was Irvine's first home loss since replacing Brian Laws at the helm last month. But they will be looking for a swift return to winning ways against the Tractor Boys as they hover just a point above the relegation zone. Irvine said: "It's a test of character for the lads, a big test of character. "It's a daunting place to play for opponents if the team are playing well. But it can be a daunting place for your own players to play if the team doesn't play well, and I think our lads now have got to show the mental strength to come out and be ready to perform again. "We can't be all doom and gloom, we have to move on from this. It was a hard game against a good team and we've now just got to make sure that we learn from it and we get ready to face what will be another hard game at the weekend."
