Irvine wants eight new faces

Sheffield Wednesday manager Alan Irvine is showing no signs of letting up in the transfer market despite already bringing in four new players. Irvine has snapped up Chris Sedgwick, Jon Otsemebor, Paul Heffernan and Daniel Jones since the end of last season and wants another four additions before the new campaign gets under way. "I said we needed eight and that's four done," he told the club's official website. "Now I will look at the budget and see what else we can do. The club have worked very hard to give me what the budget they have given me, which I appreciate in what are very difficult times for clubs. "I'm happy with the way it has gone so far."
