Irvine slams "unacceptable" display

Sheffield Wednesday boss Alan Irvine blamed a lack of mental strength for his side's display in the 5-0 defeat by Reading at the Madejski Stadium. Jimmy Kebe and Gregorz Rasiak both bagged braces and Simon Church was also on target to leave the Owls in the Coca-Cola Championship relegation zone. Irvine said: "That was unacceptable. We were a bit unlucky with the first goal but after that we caved in. "If we are mentally fragile that will be a real problem. If you don't have mental strength then you are in real trouble. The time you really find out about people is in adversity. "I am learning things as I go along but I don't want to judge people over too short a time. I am still trying to get to know the players and I wouldn't like to jump to conclusions too soon. "This could be a huge moment in our season one way or another."
