Irvine set to keep the faith

Sheffield Wednesday manager Alan Irvine is not expected to make many changes for the top-of-the-table clash with Carlisle. Irvine has no new injury or suspension problems and although the Owls' unbeaten start came to a halt at Brentford last week, he is likely to pick an unchanged starting line-up. Midfielder James O'Connor is pressing for a recall to the starting line-up. He was a second-half substitute for Chris Sedgwick at Brentford and gives Irvine an alternative option. Summer signing Paul Heffernan, also a second-half substitute last week, is waiting for his first league start but Marcus Tudgay and Neil Mellor appear to be Irvine's first-choice strikers. The only first-team squad member sidelined through injury remains winger Jermaine Johnson, who is working his way back from a knee injury.
