Irvine points to derby
Sheffield Wednesday boss Alan Irvine insists points mean more than pride ahead of this weekend's derby against Sheffield United.
The Owls boss is braced for a tough test as he faces the Blades for the first time in charge, nearly a year after they beat his Preston side in last season's play-offs.
It will be one of the most important derby matches in years with relegation-threatened Wednesday desperate for victory following last weekend's defeat away at Middlesbrough.
Irvine told The Star: "The usual pride and bragging rights are at stake, but the biggest thing is the points.
"They have some good players and they're a powerful team.
"They work extremely hard, they have threats up front and it's a very tough game for us."
