Irvine frustrated after defeat

Sheffield Wednesday boss Alan Irvine hopes the 1-0 defeat at Brentford will act as a "wake-up call" for his players. Charlie MacDonald's first-half strike ended Wednesday's unbeaten start to the season and lifted the Bees off the foot of the table. "I was very disappointed but full credit to Brentford who played in a style that suited them," said Irvine. "We didn't get as many chances as we would have liked and didn't really put much pressure on their keeper. "If they've come here with the attitude that they were only playing the bottom side then they were misguided. As they have discovered, no side in this division is going to roll over. "Perhaps this will be a bit of a wake-up call."
