Irvine bemoans lack of creativity

Sheffield Wednesday manager Alan Irvine has blamed his side's slide back into the bottom three on their inability to convert chances. The Owls lost for the first time in seven matches on Monday after creating an array of openings in a 1-0 home defeat to Bristol City and results elsewhere saw them drop back into the relegation zone. Irvine, who side face Middlesbrough at the Riverside on Saturday, said: "We have to try and win, that's for sure. "You can't go to a place like Middlesbrough and be completely wide open, but you have to make sure you have a threat. "But that can be done from having a good shape and being solid. We're not scoring enough goals, but we are creating chances. "We had 25 attempts on goal against Bristol City, but we didn't score any goals. You would expect to score at least one if not two goals from that number."
