Irish FA: No Worthington approach

The former Norwich City manager has expressed an interest in the vacant Sheffield Wednesday job.[LNB]Worthington has begun talks with the IFA about a new contract and those are on-going as his current deal expires at the end of the month.[LNB]In a statement the governing body said: "The Irish FA would like to confirm that it has not been approached by any club requesting permission to speak to Northern Ireland manager Nigel Worthington.[LNB]"Preliminary talks between the association and Nigel Worthington regarding a new contract took place last week and these talks are still ongoing."[LNB]Wednesday are looking for a new manager following the departure of Brian Laws and Worthington has a soft spot for the club, having spent over a decade at Hillsborough as a player.[LNB][LNB]
