Heffernan looking up

Sheffield Wednesday's new signing Paul Heffernan is optimistic the club can achieve promotion next season. The 28-year-old, who will sign a two-year contract with the Owls on July 1, has dropped down a division following his release from Doncaster, but expects to be back in the Championship soon. He told the Sheffield Star: "You have to be confident. It's going to be a tough season though. As Leeds found, it's not easy to get out of this division. "But with the squad we have here, plus the manager is looking to bring a few more players in, the club is more than capable of sustaining a promotion challenge. It's a club that has ambition and so do I." Heffernan added: "I'm looking forward to going back to play Doncaster in our last pre-season friendly before the season starts."
