The former Sunderland defender, 34, started 13 games for the Owls last season after initially signing on loan from Wolves in January and thrived in a midfield role for Brian Laws' side. Laws said: "He is a great pro and supremely fit for a player of his age and experience. Michael is an inspiration to our younger players and brings many qualities to our squad. "Our supporters have already seen some excellent performances from Michael. "He provides a calming influence on the team and always uses the ball effectively as well as providing extra ammunition from our set plays." Gray's season was cut short due to a shoulder injury sustained against Watford in March, which required surgery.
