Gray loves Sheffield derby day

The 35-year-old played his part in the Owls' historic 2-1 win at Bramall Lane in February that saw Wednesday become the first Sheffield club in 95 years to secure a league derby double. Gray told his BBC online blog ahead of this season's first derby encounter: "I'm sure all over Sheffield, from both sets of fans, they have been looking forward to this game maybe more so than the players. "It's the game where half the city go to work on Monday morning with a smile on their faces (and maybe a slight hangover) and the other half dread seeing their mates who support the other side. "I hadn't been at Sheffield Wednesday long when the first fan told me of the importance of the Steel City derby. When I got my first taste of it I certainly wasn't disappointed. "A 95-year record was on the line by beating them home and away. You could sense the tension on the coach going to the game. The lads were just itching to get out there and give everything they had to win this game."
