Grant pens Burnley deal

Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Lee Grant has signed a three-year contract with Burnley after agreeing personal terms with the Lancashire club. The Owls will use the undisclosed transfer fee, believed to be in the region of £1million, to help pay off tax debts of £550,000. Wednesday were served with a winding up petition last week by Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs and that resulted in a subsequent transfer embargo enforced by the Football League, which the club hope will now be lifted. Wednesday rejected four previous bids for Grant, but accepted the latest offer on Sunday for the 27-year-old goalkeeper, who joined the Owls on a free transfer from Derby in the summer of 2007 and teams back up with former manager Brian Laws.
