Grant lands award double

Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Lee Grant has been named the players' player and fans' player of the year at Hillsborough. The 27-year-old completed the double at the club's gala awards dinner where Liam Palmer was named young player of the year and Etienne Esajas scooped the goal of the season accolade. Grant said: "This is really pleasing for me on a personal note, especially the award from the players because while it's nice to be recognised by the fans the players' award is particularly satisfying as it comes from your fellow professionals and team-mates. "I'm only part of a team and obviously I'd like to thank the lads as well. It would be nice for one of the strikers to win the award because that would mean we have had a better season." The Owls are hoping to avoid relegation with a home victory over closest rivals Crystal Palace in their last game on Sunday. They could go down on Monday night should Palace beat promoted West Brom at Selhurst Park.
