Grant: Hard to say goodbye

Departing goalkeeper Lee Grant said he was leaving Sheffield Wednesday "with a heavy heart" after signing a three-year deal with Burnley. The Owls accepted a fourth improved offer on Sunday for 27-year-old, who will team back up with former Wednesday manager Brian Laws. The two clubs agreed an undisclosed fee believed to be in the region of £1million. Grant, who spent two months on loan at Turf Moor from November 2005, told Burnley's official website: "Obviously this is my second spell here, it was quite a short one first time round so hopefully this will be a much longer affair." On leaving Wednesday, he added: "In all honesty, I've had three really good years there and, although last year didn't end up the way I would have liked, on a personal basis I still managed to have a good year and came away with a few awards. "(I'm leaving with) a heavy heart, having had a very good relationship with the players and the staff and obviously the fans there so a big thank you to those, but obviously I'm looking now to build up some good relationships here."
