Sheffield Wednesday fan group Wednesdayite have pleaded with the Owls to break their silence regarding the club's financial plight. The group own a 10% stake in the south Yorkshire club and their representatives last met with chief executive Nick Parker when news of a winding-up order was served by HMRC nearly a month ago. Wednesdayite are concerned that Parker has not arranged to address a public meeting of supporters to discuss the club`s position. In a statement released on Tuesday night, Wednesdayite said: "We had hoped to discuss the club's written response at our board meeting with a view to formally updating our members on the situation. Mr Parker has not been prepared to respond in writing but we have spoken with him. "We asked if he would address an open meeting of fans and shareholders to explain what is happening with the club's finances. A meeting like this, preferably with other board members too, would help us all to assess how best we can assist the club going forward. "Mr Parker indicated that he would be prepared to do this, so we will be urging the club to announce a date for this public meeting as soon as possible."
