The Dutch winger, 24, was rewarded for his goalscoring display in the recent derby defeat to Sheffield United with a starting place against Cardiff and responded with another goal and two assists in a convincing 3-1 win. Esajas said: "I went on the pitch thinking I would just give everything because if I play good I can lift the team and that's what I tried to do. "I've not been playing regularly but now that I'm starting I just want to show what I've got and give my all. I was really hungry for the game and was really pleased with my performance." He added: "I think I'm good enough to be in the side and if the gaffer picks somebody else it is frustrating but I took my chance against Sheffield United, I played a good game against Cardiff, but I need it to stay like this. "We've got good players in this team but I'm willing to fight for my spot. It's my last season, so I want to show everything now."
