Clarke, who arrived at Hillsborough from hometown club Wolves in January 2007, has endeared himself to Owls fans this season with some much-improved performances. Manager Brian Laws said: "Leon has made a fantastic amount of progress this year and he has become a potent weapon in our attacking play on a consistent basis. "I'm delighted he will be staying for at least another year with us because it's important for Sheffield Wednesday to retain our best players as we look to compete in the top half of the Championship next season." Clarke, 24, has eight goals and is on course to finish as the Owls second-top scorer behind Marcus Tudgay.
