Buxton shows versatility

Sheffield Wednesday defender Lewis Buxton had few problems adjusting to his new central defensive role for the Owls at the weekend. The 26-year-old was switched from right-back to centre-half for Saturday's home win over Leyton Orient as cover for Mark Beevers, who has been sidelined for up to eight weeks with ankle ligament damage. Buxton, who scored the game's only goal, told the club's official website: "To go from right-back to left-sided centre-half, you see things a bit differently, but the more I play there, the more I'll get used to the position. "I've played there many times before and know that I can do a good job and I'm ready to step in again if the manager asks me to."
