Boss pleased to bounce back

Sheffield Wednesday manager Gary Megson praised his side after they bounced back from Saturday's dismal home defeat against Plymouth to win 3-2 at Oldham. The Owls moved into a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Mark Beevers and Chris Sedgwick before Filipe Morais and Dale Stephens levelled for the Latics. But Wednesday pounced for the winner in the 52nd minute as Sedgwick converted Tommy Spurr's left-wing cross at the far post. Megson said: "I`m delighted with the start we made and at being 2-0 up so early in the game. We chucked it away a bit and there was no reason for us to get in a position of 2-2 because Oldham didn`t do a lot. "They had the momentum at half-time but I told the lads we had won the game once and needed to go out and win it again. "After the game on Saturday we talked about the criticism and knew we were better than that. "We took it on the chin and needed to start moving up the league so I'm pleased, although we gave Oldham an opportunity when we shouldn`t have done."
