Beevers ready for hard work

Sheffield Wednesday defender Mark Beevers is gearing himself for "an absolute nightmare" when the players return next week for pre-season training. The Owls, relegated to League One for the second time in seven years, embark on a seven-day trip to Austria a week on Saturday, ending with a game against local side ASK Anif and Wednesday boss Alan Irvine, formerly in charge at Preston, has warned his players plenty of hard work lies ahead. Beevers said: "I've got a feeling it's going to be completely different from the last couple of pre-seasons. "Some of the lads from Preston have told me that it is an absolute nightmare. They've said that it's going to involve a lot of graft, plenty of gym work and lots of running."
