Batth soaks up plaudits

Sheffield Wednesday manager Gary Megson lauded central defender Danny Batth following his side's weekend win over Hartlepool. The Owls climbed 10 points clear of the relegation zone with a third straight home win and Batth, playing his seventh game since arriving on loan from Wolves, earned Megson's praise after a 2-0 success over Hartlepool. Megson said: "I thought Danny was excellent. If every footballer had his approach to the game, life would be a lot easier for managers. "He's first in in the morning and last off the training field, he does the weights every day and has a terrific attitude. "He will be the first to say it helps having an experienced player like Rob Jones at his side and they can both be very pleased with their performances."
