Former Ashton Villa and Chesterfield striker Jamie Ward could return to selection ahead of this weekend's fixture at Barnsley. The Blades go into their South Yorkshire derby at Oakwell with somewhat of a striker crisis, with Richard Cresswell and Daniel Bogdanovic already suspended for the game and Darius Henderson sidelined through injury it could leave Ched Evans and inexperienced Jordan Slew as their only fit forwards. It is still touch and go, but it is believed that the pint sized forward could be in contention for this weekend's trip to S75.Speaking to the Sheffield Star, Blades boss Gary Speed said: 'I think it might be a little bit too early for Jamie. There's always a chance and you never know but I reckon he might have to wait.'He's been getting treatment so we'll see how he responds. Obviously we'd rather he was available. But, even though we are well down in terms of numbers in that department, we can't afford to take unnecessary risks."'We'll just have to see how it goes.'
