Speed in Wales talks
Sheffield United have given Gary Speed permission to speak to the Welsh FA about the vacant manager's job.
The 41-year-old, who replaced Kevin Blackwell as Blades manager in August, has been heavily linked with the role that has been available since John Toshack left by mutual consent just over three months ago.
Earlier on Saturday afternoon the FAW dampened such speculation, telling Press Association Sport that the former midfielder had not been interviewed and that they hoped to make an announcement on Tuesday.
Blades coach John Carver will continue to take training as normal.
