Sheffield United manager Gary Speed hailed the importance of his side's first win in five games as the Blades battled past Millwall 1-0. On-loan Sunderland midfielder Andy Reid netted his first goal for United and the only goal of the game in the 29th minute to seal the points, and Speed said: "That was a very important win for us and hopefully we can build on that now. "The important thing is not go into the game with Palace and waste it. We need to win that so hopefully we can take some confidence from this win. "I hope it's not a false dawn because we've had a couple of those before. This is a difficult place to come and they put their bodies on the line. All things considered it was a fantastic result." Speed heaped praise on matchwinner Reid, adding: "Andy Reid is a quality player and he chipped in with a goal, but he's shown he's a good player since he's arrived. But it was a good all round performance by everyone."
